Plastic model kit of a 1940s British fighter jet. In many ways the Gloster Meteor could be considered Britain's jet-powered equivalent of the Spitfire. It was the first of a new breed of fighter that would patrol British airspace for many years after its introduction in July 1944. The later F.8 variant was arguably the most effective version of the Meteor and formed the backbone of British fighter air defence in the five years following its introduction. With 1,183 built, the F.8 was both the last single-seat fighter variant of the Meteor and the most produced, making it arguably one of the most important British aircraft of the post-war period. 165 parts, length built 283.1 mm / width 236 mm / height 82.5 mm.
