"The cutter Lady Nelson is modelled on a typical British cutter from the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries. The cutter is a typical British design and was built for speed, with sails unusually spread for the size of the vessel. Her armament consisted of ten 3-pounder gun carriage guns and twelve swivel guns on the bulwarks.
