This famous ship with lateen sails is descended from the Xebec, which was used by the Barbary pirates. The Xebec was armed with 14 medium calibre cannons and 6 jet guns for close combat and was also used by the Spanish navy for coastal defence in the fight against pirates. Rudders enabled locomotion even in a calm. Kit includes wooden and metal fittings, pre-cut wooden keel and frames, flags and sails, cordage, masts and spars, building instructions and plan.
