The Saurer normal steering vehicle with bonnet was a typical vehicle for heavy transport with high loads. As an all-wheel tipper, it was mostly used for the construction industry and in municipal services. Building on the proven concept of the D2KT engine, the new turbocharged machines Saurer D250 / D290 / D330 with a nominal output of 290 or 330 hp were created especially for the Swiss market from the mid-70s. With the new engines, Saurer had completed its performance range and could therefore offer an economical solution for every application. Engines with 180, 230, 290 and 330 hp were available. The improvements were also documented externally: all vehicles received a new, striking cooling grille. The windshields and side windows were enlarged, improving visibility in general. But numerous improvements were also made to the driver's cab. Overall, the powerful-looking Saurer was one of the best trucks of its time.
